Born and raised in Arizona, Ashley graduated from Coronado high school in 2004. During her high school years, she danced and was a part of her high school cheer squad as well as a competitive cheer squad. After high school, she pursued a degree in nursing and currently works at Banner Gateway as a Registered Nurse in Women and Infant Services. Ashley was first introduced to CrossFit in 2008 by her husband, Cody. She started to consistently train with CrossFit after having their second child in October 2012. If she's not at home raising 2 kids or at work helping new mothers with their babies, she is putting hours in at the gym and coaching others to a healthier lifestyle.
Background: Cody is a born and raised Arizona native. He graduated from Hamilton High and played baseball for the Huskies taking two state championships in '03 and '04. After High school, Cody joined the Army and became part of one of the most elite units in the world. As a former Army Ranger Medic, he served on three combat deployments to Iraq as part of the 3rd Ranger Battalion along with multiple other deployments as a Diplomatic Security Agent. Cody started CrossFit in 2005 and with 7 years gymnastics experience he has been obsessed with it ever since. He has spent the last 2 years coaching overseas in Afghanistan and currently is coaching in Israel. With a passion for molding CrossFitters, he decided to open up his own gym to breed success.
After years of toying around with CrossFit at work, as a Phoenix Firefighter, I had my first official introduction to Crossfit with my wife, Rachael, when we had a trial Groupon at Crossfit 375. Going into Crossfit I was at a physical low and facing my third knee surgery in three years. After one month at 375, I went in for knee surgery and recovered faster from that surgery at 43 years old than I did with any previous surgery thanks to the coaches at 375. That was when I truly knew that Crossfit worked and was for me, I was hooked. Having no previous experience in Olympic lifting, I concentrated on lighter weights, technique and form. One year later I am stronger than I have ever been and down 20 lbs. As a former paratrooper in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne, and a former high school and college athlete, Crossfit has brought back that team atmosphere and made me feel like an athlete again.
Aside from the challenging workouts, I genuinely love the community that has evolved at 375. When the opportunity presented itself to get my Level 1 Cert and coach at 375, I jumped at the chance. I am honored to coach at 375 and help this amazing community continue to grow. I want to develop athletes not only physically but mentally and help each of them become better than they were the day before.
Luis started coaching at 375 in January of 2016. He coaches several CrossFit classes as well as the Weightlifting Coach and programmer here at 375.
