Adam Caiazzo

  • CrossFit Level 1
  • Phoenix Firefighter

After years of toying around with CrossFit at work, as a Phoenix Firefighter, I had my first official introduction to Crossfit with my wife, Rachael, when we had a trial Groupon at Crossfit 375. Going into Crossfit I was at a physical low and facing my third knee surgery in three years. After one month at 375, I went in for knee surgery and recovered faster from that surgery at 43 years old than I did with any previous surgery thanks to the coaches at 375. That was when I truly knew that Crossfit worked and was for me, I was hooked. Having no previous experience in Olympic lifting, I concentrated on lighter weights, technique and form. One year later I am stronger than I have ever been and down 20 lbs. As a former paratrooper in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne, and a former high school and college athlete, Crossfit has brought back that team atmosphere and made me feel like an athlete again.

Aside from the challenging workouts, I genuinely love the community that has evolved at 375. When the opportunity presented itself to get my Level 1 Cert and coach at 375, I jumped at the chance. I am honored to coach at 375 and help this amazing community continue to grow. I want to develop athletes not only physically but mentally and help each of them become better than they were the day before.

LaFonda found Crossfit in Fall 2012 after a friend had suggested it. She immediately fell in love with the sport and joined her University’s club team and quickly moved up to Vice President and later President in her Junior year. Miley Merritt

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
  • My name is Miley! I was born and raised in Northern California and moved to Arizona for school in 2011. I started to pursue my dream career of being a firefighter and was hired with the Scottsdale Fire Department in the Fall of 2013. I have been involved in sports my whole life and after I began my job I knew I needed to get into a fitness routine that would keep me motivated and excited to work out. I started Crossfit in 2014 and immediately loved it. I still remember struggling to do a single pull up and telling my coach that I hoped one day I could put a 45# plate on each side of the bar and do a back squat. I loved the community and the way that everyone pushed each other to do better. Crossfit has challenged and rewarded me in so many ways. I realized that living a healthy lifestyle meant much more than just going to the gym. I started to pay more attention to other aspects like nutrition, sleep and mobility and how it affects my performance. Not only did crossfit change my life but my parents became active in crossfit and have both improved there health tremendously. What I love the most about crossfit is how it rolls over into everyday life. I love to take my fitness outdoors and I feel like crossfit has given me the confidence to take on any physical quest whether it be a half-marathon, spartan race, carrying all the groceries myself or accomplishing any task at work as a firefighter. I am so excited to coach because I love seeing people set and go after there goals and helping them to achieve them!
